Dear Mr. Takken: I have done some searches of our materials for information about your question. All that I was able to find was a September 25, 1985 news article. In the article, the president of the University of Tennessee Student Government Association states that President Reagan told her that he had just given up adding artificial sweeteners to his coffee. She quotes Reagan as telling her, "I decided there was no reason I should be putting artificial sweeteners in it because we don't know what is in them." However, Reagan does not indicate in the quote which sweetener he had been using. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Mr. Kelly D. I hope you can help. I found a lot about banquets state dinners and what the Reagans had for breakfast. But I can't find the mundane I am interested in, simple every day eating habits and preferences. I wonder, since Ronald Reagan did so much to get aspartame approved, did he personally eat or drink products using that sweetener? And did he like fruit or vegetable juices or products - like tomato or carrot juice; orange, grape or apple juice; Odwala products...? Where can I find this information?
